Is there a British or European spider with a white bottom and stripy legs?
It was a male (enormous pedipalps) and looked like a slimmer version of a young house spider in shape, about an inch across, with caramel-and-cream striped legs and a dark abdomen with a white tip. Googling shows me a White Tailed Spider, but apart from being Austalian, L. murina is too chunky. I failed to find a British spider that looks like this.
Edited to add: The abdomen was plain dark brown but for the white 'tail' and the only colours were various shades of brown, caramel and cream. The spider type was like cobweb or house spiders, not like an orb web and it was free-roaming when seen. Not a banded argiope but thanks for looking.
That sounds like a Banded Argiope to me...
